Thought this may be usefull when requesting tools this Christmas:
DRILL PRESS: A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and flings your beer across the room, denting the freshly-painted project which you had carefully set in the corner where nothing could get to it.

WIRE WHEEL: Cleans paint off bolts and then throws them somewhere under the workbench with the speed of light. Also removes fingerprints and hard-earned calluses from fingers in about the time it takes you to say, 'Oh sh--!'

SKILL SAW: A portable cutting tool used to make studs too short.

PLIERS: Used to round off bolt heads. Sometimes used in the creation of blood-blisters.

HACKSAW: One of a family of cutting tools built on the Ouija board principle. It transforms human energy into a crooked, unpredictable motion, and the more you attempt to influence its course, the more dismal your future becomes.

VISE-GRIPS: Generally used after pliers to completely round off bolt heads. If nothing else is available, they can also be used to transfer intense welding heat to the palm of your hand.

OXYACETYLENE TORCH: Used almost entirely for lighting various flammable objects in your shop on fire. Also handy for igniting the grease inside the wheel hub out of which you want to remove a bearing race.

TABLE SAW: A large stationary power tool commonly used to launch wood projectiles for testing wall integrity.

HYDRAULIC FLOOR JACK: Used for lowering an automobile to the ground after you have installed your new brake shoes, trapping the jack handle firmly under the bumper.

BAND SAW: A large stationary power saw primarily used by most shops to cut good aluminum sheet into smaller pieces that more easily fit into the trash can after you cut on the inside of the line instead of the outside edge.

TWO-TON ENGINE HOIST: A tool for testing the maximum tensile strength of everything you forgot to disconnect.

PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER: Normally used to stab the vacuum seals under lids or for opening old-style paper-and-tin oil cans and splashing oil on your shirt; but can also be used, as the name implies, to strip out Phillips screw heads.

STRAIGHT (COMMON) SCREWDRIVER: A tool for opening paint cans. Sometimes used to convert common slotted screws into non-removable screws and butchering your palms.

PRY BAR: A tool used to crumple the metal surrounding that clip or bracket you needed to remove in order to replace a 50 cent part.

HOSE CUTTER: A tool used to make hoses too short.

HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.

UTILITY KNIFE: Used to open and slice through the contents of cardboard cartons delivered to your front door; works particularly well on contents such as seats, vinyl records, liquids in plastic bottles, collector magazines, refund checks, and rubber or plastic parts. Especially useful for slicing work clothes, but only while in use.

SON-OF-A-B*TCH TOOL: (A personal favorite!!) Any handy tool that you grab and throw across the garage while yelling 'Son of a B*TCH!' at the top of your lungs. It is also, most often, the next tool that you will need.

Dacht dat dit kan nuttig zijn bij het aanvragen van hulpmiddelen deze kerst:
BOOR PERS: Een lange rechte machine handig voor het plotseling ingrijppunten platte metalen staaf voorraad uit je handen zodat het riekt u in de borst en gooit je bier kant van de kamer, deuken de vers geschilderde project dat u zorgvuldig had in de hoek waar niets aan toe.

WIRE WIEL: Reinigt verf van bouten en vervolgens gooit ze ergens onder de werkbank met de snelheid van het licht. Verwijdert ook vingerafdrukken en zuurverdiende eelt op de vingers in ongeveer de tijd die het neemt je mee om te zeggen, 'Oh sh -!'

VAARDIGHEID SAW: Een draagbaar snijgereedschap gebruikt om bouten te kort.

TANG: gebruikt voor de afronding boutkoppen. Soms gebruikt in de creatie van bloed-blaren.

STEEKZAAGMACHINE: Een van een familie van snijgereedschappen gebouwd op het Ouija bord principe. Het transformeert menselijke energie in een scheve, onvoorspelbare beweging, en hoe meer je probeert om zijn koers te beïnvloeden, hoe meer sombere je toekomst wordt.

VISE-GRIPS: Over het algemeen gebruikt na een tang om volledig afronden boutkoppen. Als er niets anders voorhanden is, kunnen ze ook worden gebruikt om intense lassen warmte-overdracht naar de palm van uw hand.

Autogeen TORCH: bijna volledig gebruikt voor de verlichting van verschillende brandbare voorwerpen in uw winkel in brand. Ook handig voor het aansteken van het vet in de naaf van waaruit je een lagerschaal te verwijderen.

TAFELZAAG: Een grote stationaire elektrisch gereedschap vaak gebruikt om hout te projectielen te lanceren voor het testen van de muur integriteit.

HYDRAULISCHE vloerkrik: Gebruikt voor het verlagen van een auto aan de grond nadat u hebt geïnstalleerd uw nieuwe remschoenen, het vangen van de krik stevig hendel onder de bumper.

Lintzaag: Een grote stationaire elektrische zaag hoofdzakelijk gebruikt door de meeste winkels om goede aluminium platen in kleinere stukken geknipt die meer passen gemakkelijk in de prullenbak nadat u bezuinigen op de binnenkant van de lijn in plaats van de buitenste rand.

TWEE TON-MOTOR takel: Een tool voor het testen van de maximale treksterkte van alles wat je vergat te verbreken.

Kruiskopschroevendraaier: Normaal gebruikt te steken het vacuüm zeehonden jonger dan deksels of voor het openen van oude-stijl-en-papier tin olie bakken en spatten olie op je shirt, maar kan ook gebruikt worden, zoals de naam al aangeeft, het ontdoen van Phillips schroefkoppen.

STRAIGHT (GEMEENSCHAPPELIJKE) schroevendraaier: Een tool voor het openen van verfblikken. Soms gebruikt om gemeenschappelijke sleufschroeven om te zetten in niet-verwijderbare schroeven en afslachten uw handpalmen.

Rolkoevoet: Een instrument dat wordt gebruikt om het metaal rond die clip of beugel je nodig te verwijderen om een 50 cent onderdeel te vervangen kreukelen.

Slangsnijder: Een instrument dat wordt gebruikt om slangen te kort.

HAMMER: Oorspronkelijk werkzaam als oorlogswapen, tegenwoordig de hamer wordt gebruikt als een soort wichelroede om de meest dure onderdelen grenzend aan het object dat we proberen te raken lokaliseren.

Utility Knife: Gebruikt om open en snijd door de inhoud van kartonnen dozen geleverd aan uw voordeur, werkt vooral goed op de inhoud, zoals stoelen, grammofoonplaten, vloeistoffen in plastic flessen, verzamelaar tijdschriften, terugbetaling controles en rubber of plastic onderdelen. Vooral handig voor het snijden van werkkleding, maar alleen tijdens het gebruik.

SON-VAN-AB * TCH TOOL: (! Een persoonlijke favoriet) '! Zoon van een B * TCH "Elke handige tool die je grijpen en gooien in de garage, terwijl schreeuwen op de top van je longen. Het is ook, meestal, het volgende gereedschap dat je nodig zult hebben.
